What’s NOT Recyclable in Your Blue Cart?
Do you ever wonder if the items you place in your blue cart are actually being recycled? ReGen Monterey processes over 250 tons of recyclables per day through our Materials Recovery Facility. These materials are sorted, baled and delivered to manufacturers to make new products. By recycling, you give new life to items that would otherwise wind up landfilled.
ReGen Monterey accepts clean, separated drip tape and hoop house plastic for recycling at a reduced rate.
To meet recycling criteria, materials must be free of contamination and not mixed with other waste. Ensure plastics are as clean as possible by collecting them in dry weather, shaking off as much dirt as possible, and removing any other trash contaminants. Loads that are unseparated or excessively contaminated will be charged the problem waste rate. By participating, growers help keep agricultural plastics out of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
