What About Household Hazardous Waste from Small Businesses and CESQGs?

Small businesses, schools and non-profit organizations located within the ReGen Monterey Service Area* and generating less than 27 gallons or 220 lbs. of hazardous waste per month, are classified as Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG)


CESQGs are eligible to utilize the ReGen Monterey hazardous waste collection program with the following conditions:

  • Please call 831-264-6386 in advance to receive approval for participation in the program, and to make appointments for drop-offs once approved.
  • Proof of residence or business address, EPA I.D. Number, and Hazardous Material number if required.
  • Businesses must be located within the ReGen Monterey service area* and have proper I.D.
  • Businesses will be charged a fee ($25 labor charge plus fee for materials) to offset cost of processing.
